1960 Atlantic hurricane season

The 1960 Atlantic hurricane season marked the beginning of the satellite era in hurricane tracking with the launch of TIROS-1, the first satellite with the sole purpose of detecting cloud formations, but was the least active season since 1952. The season officially began on June 15, and lasted until November 15.
