2024 Indonesian local election law protests

The 2024 Indonesian local election law protests, also known as Emergency Alert for Indonesia (Indonesian: Peringatan Darurat Indonesia) or Indonesian Democratic Emergency (Indonesian: Indonesia Darurat Demokrasi), were public and student-led demonstrations against the House of Representatives for drafting a bill on regional head elections (pilkada) that contradicts the Constitutional Court's ruling and power, intended to regulate the 2024 Indonesian local elections. The hashtags #KawalPutusanMK or #KawalKeputusanMK (Escort MK's Decision), #TolakPolitikDinasti (Reject Political Dynasty), and #TolakPilkadaAkal2an (Reject Manipulated Local Elections) became widely popular on social media.
