2024 Rio Grande do Sul floods
The 2024 Rio Grande do Sul floods were severe floods caused by heavy rains and storms that hit the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, and the adjacent Uruguayan cities of Treinta y Tres, Paysandú, Cerro Largo, and Salto. From 29 April through to May, it resulted in 181 fatalities (as of 7 July 2024), widespread landslides, and a dam collapse.
