On the evening of 23 August 2024, a mass stabbing took place in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in which three people were killed and eight were injured. Following the attack, a 24-hour manhunt ensued, which ended with police arresting the perpetrator, a 26-year-old Syrian refugee.
