2026 Chios migrant boat shipwreck

On 3 February 2026, a collision occurred between an inflatable speedboat carrying migrants and a patrol boat of the Greek coast guard a few kilometers off the island of Chios. The shipwreck resulted in the death of at least 15 people, with 25 migrants being rescued, including 11 minors, and one injured woman later succumbing to her wounds.
