Andrés López de Medrano (1780 – May 6, 1856) was a nobleman, educator, medical doctor, lawyer, journalist, poet, author, politician and the first enlightened philosopher of the Dominican Republic. Medrano served as rector of the University of Santo Domingo in 1821 and was a professor of Latin and Rhetoric.
