Ashvatthama (IAST: Aśvatthāmā, also spelt as Ashwatthama and Ashvatthaman) is one of the major characters in the ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata. He is the son of Drona, the royal preceptor to the Kuru princes—the Pandavas and the Kauravas.
