Athletes and domestic violence in the United States

Domestic violence perpetrated by male athletes upon their intimate partners or family members is a serious crime that affects sports administration. In a 9 year span, there was a surplus of 50 domestic violence incidents perpetrated by NFL players, only 16 of them receiving disciplinary attention from the Commissioner of the sport.
