Australian Bureau of Statistics

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is an agency of the Australian Government that collates and analyses statistical data on economic, demographic, environmental and social issues to support policy research and development. The bureau's function originated in the Commonwealth Bureau of Census and Statistics, established in 1905, four years after the Federation of Australia.
