Australian rules football in Queensland

In Queensland, Australian rules football (known mainly as "AFL") is a moderately popular spectator and participation sport governed by AFL Queensland. It dates back to the colonial era in 1866 and was the first and most popular football code until 1883 when it fell behind the Barassi line.
