Avram David "Avi" Lewis (born May 1967) is a Canadian politician and filmmaker who has served as leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) since 2026. Raised in a political family, Lewis began his career in broadcasting, hosting several programs for Citytv, CBC News and Al Jazeera English including The NewMusic, CounterSpin, On the Map with Avi Lewis, The Big Picture with Avi Lewis, and Fault Lines.
