The Battle of Lusail (Arabic: معركة لوسيل, Spanish: Batalla de Lusail, Dutch: De slag om Lusail) is the nickname of a football match played in the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup between the Netherlands and Argentina at the Lusail Stadium in Lusail, Qatar on 9 December 2022. Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz issued a FIFA World Cup record 18 yellow cards and one red card, setting a new record for cautions at any FIFA-administered international tournament.
