The Battle of the Canoes (Portuguese: Batalha das Canoas), also known as the Battle of Guaixará (Portuguese: Batalha de Guaixará), was an unsuccessful French-Tamoio ambush against the Portuguese and their allies. Saint Sebastian was allegedly seen in the midst of the battle.
