Belgaum border dispute
The Belgaum border dispute (or Belagavi border dispute) is a dispute between the Indian states of Karnataka and Maharashtra over the administration of the city of Belgaum and surrounding areas. During the British Raj, the region was part of the Bombay Presidency, a former colonial province that included western Maharashtra, north-western Karnataka, and much of Gujarat, and then became part of the short-lived Bombay State after Indian independence.
