Blatten (Lötschen)

Blatten (German pronunciation: [ˈblatn̩]) is a village and municipality in the Lötschental in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, which was almost entirely destroyed by a cataclysmic landslide caused by a glacer collapse on 28 May 2025. It is part of the district of Westlich Raron, and much of its area lies within the Jungfrau-Aletsch protected area, a World Heritage Site.
