Blown film extrusion

Blown film extrusion is a polymer-extrusion process used to make thin plastic films. A thermoplastic melt, usually a polyethylene grade, is forced through a ring-shaped (annular) die to form a thin tube, and air is blown up the centre of the tube to inflate it into a bubble several times the diameter of the die.
