Borgarvirki

Borgarvirki [ˈpɔrkarˌvɪr̥cɪ] lies between Vesturhóp [ˈvɛstʏrˌhouːp] and Víðidalur [ˈviːðɪˌtaːlʏr̥] in the north of Iceland, and at 177m above sea level it dominates the surrounding region. Made out of basalt strata, it has been used as a fortress.
