Boumerdès (Arabic: ولاية بومرداس) is a province (wilaya) of northern Algeria. It is located in the Kabylia region, between Algiers and Tizi-Ouzou, with its capital at the coastal city of Boumerdès (formerly Rocher-Noir) just east of Algiers.
