Jewish insurgency in Mandatory Palestine
In the final years of the British Mandate for Palestine (1944-48), tensions between the British authorities and the Zionist movement escalated into an armed insurgency. Zionist militias and underground groups—including Haganah, Lehi, and Irgun—carried out a paramilitary campaign against British rule in Mandatory Palestine.
