Budapest metropolitan area

The Budapest agglomeration is an urban conglomeration with Budapest as its center, which encompasses the Hungarian capital city and the surrounding settlements closely tied to it economically, infrastructurally, in the labor market, and in services. The Budapest agglomeration is a monocentric conglomeration: Budapest alone accounts for almost two-thirds of the agglomeration's population, while the second largest settlement, Érd, has a population amounting to 4% of Budapest’s.
