Capital District (New York)

The Capital District, also known as the Capital Region, is the metropolitan area surrounding Albany, the capital of the U.S. state of New York. With an estimated 915,835 residents as of the 2025 US Census estimate, the Capital District is the 4th largest metropolitan area in New York State, and the fastest-growing region in Upstate New York.
