Carfentanil or carfentanyl, formerly sold under the brand name Wildnil, is an extremely potent opioid analgesic formerly used in veterinary medicine to anesthetize large animals such as elephants and rhinoceroses. It is a structural analogue of the synthetic opioid analgesic fentanyl.
