Cave of Treasures

The Cave of Treasures (Syriac: ܡܥܪܬ ܓܙܐ, romanized: Maʿarraṯ ġazzē) is pseudepigraphal work of Syriac literature that retells biblical narrative within a distinctly Christian and Mesopotamian setting. Originally composed in Syriac, it provides a then-modern Christian interpretation of the Old Testament from the creation of Adam to the coming of Christ, and presents Adam and the patriarchs as prefigurations of Christ, and also situating key events in Assyria and surrounding regions.
