Singapore adopts a proactive long-term effort in addressing rising sea-levels, temperature increases due to global warming, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As of 2022, compared to other ASEAN countries, Singapore has the second highest per capita CO2 emissions at 8.9 tonnes, and ranks sixth in total annual CO2 emissions at 53.25 million tonnes.
