The Connecticut State Navy was the state navy of Connecticut during the American Revolutionary War. It was established in August 1775 by the Connecticut General Assembly to defend Connecticut's merchant shipping and coastal communities from British attacks, along with interdicting smuggling between Connecticut and Long Island.
