Copyright Term Extension Act
The Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act – also known as the Copyright Term Extension Act, Sonny Bono Act, or (derisively) the Mickey Mouse Protection Act – is a 1998 law pertaining to copyright in the United States. It is the most recent of several acts extending copyright terms, the length of time a work retains its copyright before entering the public domain.
