Counting of the Omer (Hebrew: סְפִירַת הָעוֹמֶר, romanized: Sefirat HaOmer; sometimes abbreviated as Sefira) is a ritual in Judaism. It consists of a verbal counting of each of the 49 days between the holidays of Passover and Shavuot.
