Cupra Marittima
Cupra Marittima (Latin: Cupra Maritima) is in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, located about 70 km (43 mi) southeast of Ancona and about 30 km (19 mi) northeast of Ascoli Piceno. == History == The site was originally an ancient sanctuary of the Piceni to the Sabine goddess Cupra, which was restored by Hadrian in 127 AD. The ancient Roman town of Cupra Maritima is at La Civita near the current town.
