The Curupira, Currupira or Korupira (Portuguese pronunciation: [kuɾuˈpiɾɐ]) is a forest spirit in the myth of the Tupí-Guaraní speaking areas in the Brazil, Paraguay and Guyanas. It is a guardian of the forests that punishes humans for overcutting.
