2016–17 Australian region cyclone season

The 2016–17 Australian region cyclone season was a slightly below-average season in terms of activity, despite a very high number of tropical lows. It featured nine tropical cyclones, three of which intensified further into severe tropical cyclones; though it was much more active than the previous season.
