2008 North Indian Ocean cyclone season
The 2008 North Indian cyclone season was one of the most destructive tropical cyclone seasons in modern history, causing more than 140,000 fatalities and over US$15 billion in damage. At the time, it was the costliest season in the North Indian Ocean, until it was surpassed by 2020.
