Deep gluteal syndrome

Deep gluteal syndrome describes pain going down the leg from the lower back due to nerve irritation in the buttocks (rather than the spine or pelvis). In medical terms, this sciatica is non-discogenic extrapelvic entrapment of the sciatic nerve in the deep gluteal space.
