Design B-65 cruiser
Design B-65 was a class of cruisers planned by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) before and during World War II. The design has been variously described as a 'battlecruiser', 'super-heavy cruiser', a 'super cruiser', a 'cruiser-killer', or as a 'large cruiser', given that it was larger than most heavy cruisers but smaller than most battleships. The IJN referred to it as the 'Super Type A cruiser' and classified it as a heavy cruiser; it was never considered to be a capital ship.
