Drang nach Osten (German: [ˈdʁaŋ naːx ˈʔɔstn̩]; lit. 'Drive to the East', or 'push eastward', 'desire to push east') was the name for a 19th-century German nationalist intent to expand Germany into Slavic territories of Central and Eastern Europe.
