Electoral Commission of South Africa

The Electoral Commission of South Africa, sometimes simply referred to as the Electoral Commission, or referred to as its previous name, the Independent Electoral Commission or IEC, is South Africa's election management body, an independent organisation established under chapter nine of the Constitution. The Commission is responsible for conducting mandatory elections to the National Assembly, provincial legislatures and municipal councils.
