Electromagnetic environment

In telecommunications, the term electromagnetic environment (EME) has the following meanings: For a telecommunications system, the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields surrounding a given site. The electromagnetic environment may be expressed in terms of the spatial and temporal distribution of electric field strength (volts per metre), irradiance (watts per square metre), or energy density (joules per cubic metre).
