Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument

The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument is a United States national monument that honors Emmett Till, a 14-year-old African American teenager who was abducted, tortured, and lynched in Mississippi in 1955, and his mother, Mamie Till, who became an advocate in the Civil Rights Movement. The monument includes three sites, one in Illinois and two in Mississippi, with a total area of 5.7 acres (2.3 ha).
