Expulsion of Muslims from the Northern Province of Sri Lanka
The Expulsion of Muslims from the Northern Province of Sri Lanka was the forcible displacement of 72,000 Sri Lankan Muslims from the Northern Province carried out by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in October 1990, during the Sri Lankan Civil War. Some observers describe this as an act of "ethnic cleansing".
