Feringheea
Feringheea, also Feringeea, was a thuggee gang leader who was captured in 1830 and subsequently became a valuable approver (the period term for informant) during the British Anti-Thuggee Campaign of the 1830s. Feringheea became famous after he was featured as the fictional chief of the Thugs in the 1844–1845 serial novel Le Juif errant, and later appeared as the main character in the 1877 novel Le Procès des Thugs.
