Ferrero–Washington theorem

In algebraic number theory, the Ferrero–Washington theorem states that Iwasawa's μ-invariant vanishes for cyclotomic Zp-extensions of abelian algebraic number fields. It was first proved by Ferrero & Washington (1979).
