Fialuridine

Fialuridine (FIAU) is a synthetic, solid, fluorinated nucleoside analogue of thymidine that was investigated as a treatment for chronic hepatitis B virus infection (HBV) in the early 1990s. Its effectiveness was evaluated during a Phase II clinical trial over a six-month course, with 24 patients treated.
