Field hockey at the 1948 Summer Olympics

The field hockey tournament at the 1948 Summer Olympics was the sixth edition of the field hockey event at the Summer Olympics. In five Olympic hockey tournaments, there had only been two different winners, but Britain and India had never competed together at the Olympics.
