First Anglo-Maratha War
The First Anglo-Maratha War (1775–1782) was the first conflict fought between the British East India Company and Maratha Empire in India. The war, fought in between Surat and Poona, began with the 1775 Treaty of Surat after the East India Company agreed to support the recently-deposed Raghunathrao's claim as peshwa of the Maratha Empire.
