Florida Department of Environmental Protection

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) is the Florida government agency responsible for environmental protection, mainly working to improve the quality of the local environment and to further improve its qualities, to prevent pollution and when possible, initiate repairs of damage and reversal of harmful excess in all areas of Florida where it has full jurisdiction. The FDEP is a merge of a two past environmental agencies, the DER (Florida Department of Environmental Regulation) and the DNR (Florida Department of Natural Resources).
