Future of rail transport in India

The Indian Government is undertaking several initiatives to upgrade its railway infrastructure and enhance its quality of service. The Railway Ministry has announced plans to invest ₹540,000 crore (equivalent to ₹5.7 trillion or US$60 billion in 2023) to upgrade the railways by 2030.
