Georgia during Reconstruction

Reconstruction occurred after the American Civil War, between 1865 and 1877, and was the reintegration of the Southern States back into the Union. Reconstruction saw federal military oversight in the Southern States, and the gradual adoption of new amendments before states could be reestablished.
