German support for Israel in the Gaza war

During the Gaza war, which began in October 2023, the German government's support for Israel has attracted significant media attention and commentary. On 1 March 2024, Nicaragua initiated proceedings against Germany at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing Germany of facilitating a genocide in Gaza, in violation of the Genocide Convention.
