Gordon David Sondland (born July 16, 1957) is an American businessman and former diplomat who served as the United States ambassador to the European Union from 2018 to 2020, and was a central figure in the 2019 Trump–Ukraine scandal; leading to the first impeachment of Donald Trump. In November 2019, he testified as a witness at the impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump.
