Governor General's Bodyguard
The Governor General's Bodyguard was a cavalry regiment of the British Indian Army and served as the British Indian equivalent to the Household Cavalry of the British Army. == History == The Presidency armies had no cavalry units until the early 1760s, when two troops of dragoons and one troop of hussars were raised - the latter becoming the personal bodyguard of the governor of Bengal.
