Hazar Merd Cave

Hazar Merd (in Kurdish: هەزارمێرد) (from Persian هزارمرد, meaning "A thousand Men") is a group of Paleolithic cave sites excavated by Dorothy Garrod in 1928. The caves are located southwest of Sulaymaniyah, in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq.
